Tenure-Track Faculty in Fashion Design | Columbia College Chicago | Chicago, IL The Department of Art+ Design Columbia College Chicago is seeking applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Fashion Design beginning August 16, 2007. Requirements include: an M.F.A. degree in Fashion Design with a focus on fashion and/or costume, several years full-time teaching experience at the College/University level, and experience in pattern making, draping, textiles and design at both beginning and advanced levels. Knowledge of fashion and art history, contemporary theory and a record of professional distinction are also required. Responsibilities include: teaching 3 courses per semester, students advising, and participating in curriculum development and committee service at the department and college level. The applicant is expected to continue active research and professional development in his/her preferred field. Columbia College Chicago is a vibrant arts and communications college in a liberal education setting and has over 11,500 undergraduate and graduate students. The Art + Design Department has approximately 1600 majors, 30 full time faculty, over 200 adjunct faculty, and 30 staff. The Art + Design Department offers a B.F.A. in Interior Architecture, Fashion Design, Product Design, Fine Art, Illustration, Advertising Art and a B.A. in Art + Design and Art History.
